Earlier this year, Trib Total Media made the difficult decision to cease printing weekly editions of our 14 community newspapers – Advance Leader, Penn Hills Progress, Norwin Star, Penn-Trafford Star, Murrysville Star, The Times Express, South Hills Record, The Signal Item, Sewickley Herald, Pine Creek Journal, Hampton Journal, Bethel Park Journal, North Journal and The Herald along with our 8 EverybodyShops weekly shopper publications.
“Many of the small local businesses who advertise in these weekly publications were not open and many of the events that we write about were simply not happening,” said Bill Cotter, former Trib Total Media Advertising Director. “It did not make good business sense to continue printing these on a weekly basis when neither the advertising nor the content was there.”
However, effective September 3, 2020, print editions of Trib Total Media’s weekly community newspapers will again be delivered to the mailboxes of over 154,000 households across the region each week. The EverybodyShops weekly shoppers will publish every other week.
“We are very pleased to be able to put these community newspapers back into production each week,” said Al DiCroce, Trib Total Media Advertising Director. “It’s a sign of the times that our economy is slowing but surely opening back up.”
Trib Total Media’s weekly community newspapers deliver hyper-local news to the communities that they serve and are directly mailed to every household within their respective coverage areas. Their highly targeted audience, fast turnaround, and competitive pricing make our weekly community newspapers an excellent advertising opportunity for local businesses.
The advertising deadline for South Hills Record and Signal Item and the 8 EverybodyShops editions is Noon on Wednesday. The remaining weekly publications deadline Thursday at Noon.
